General rules:
Rules regarding the use of LiPo Batteries:
As from the 1st of January 2008 West Bridgford Model Car club will be allowing the use of LiPo batteries. The committee feel that it is now safe to allow this sort of battery and also due to unavailability of NiMh cells at this point, we feel that it is now the time to allow people to use LiPo batteries.
To maintain the safety of people using these batteries and everyone else who is at the club, the committee have put together the following guidelines to which we would like users to stick to if they decide to use LiPo batteries.
Anyone is eligible to compete in any class but all drivers must have BRCA Insurance which can be obtained through us by becoming a member or sourced by the participant through other means. If new to the hobby then you are allowed to race a maximum of three times before you have to show evidence of having BRCA insurance, we do recommend that anybody participating in radio controlled car racing should get BRCA Insurance as soon as possible.
